For those whose family help with child care, do you find that your LO's copy those who they spend time with? We live with PIL and C is picking up lots of quirks from them. Some are a bit worrying some dont bother me they just make him look a bit odd against other kids. Like if we sit to read a book he gets up and says, "I need my readers to see this book" and then runs off to put his play glasses on, comes back with them on and reads the book. Another thing is they have loads of tablets. Every morning c comes down and asks if they have had their tablets, then later if he has something to eat he squirms and says yucky as if he is taking tablets. MIL struggles up the stairs she has rest bad knees bless her, and he now copies the way she crawls up the stairs, sound effects included and says "help me up mummy". He also comes out with some of their sayings like " where has the day gone".
I'm sure he is Benjamin Button the 2nd!!
Do your lo's copy those who are close to them?

The only thing E has picked up from my mum who does my child care most of the time, it the fact that she calls everyone darling. In a morning i'll go into her room, and she'll say "Hello Darling".
S is too young yet really to pick anything up.

I lived with my Mum until C was 2.5. He picked up the way she said certain words.
Instead of "going home", it'd be "goin um", "naked" would be "nekkid". He spends every Saturday with my Mum, so i've given up trying to stop him saying things like that.

Isn't he like a little old man!! He needs pipe and slippers and he is only 2! It's worrying!!! Seriously...when people come to the house he asks if they want a cup of tea and a biscuit!

yes Molly is just like this, a few corkers recenlty though. She has to help everyone up out of the chair as my Mum has to help my Dad (bad knees) she is also an old woman about being wrapped out to go out even to the car ...... this is my MIL who wears a hat until its in the 70's. she has picked up tutting from my mum and from my Dad it's "for god's sake!" plus other road rage comments when you are driving......I could go on!

Yes a bit. My 2 year old now says 'I have wind' thanks to my mum rather than 'fart' like we say - although not exclusively. She also said the other day 'Ah Home Sweet Home' which I think might be from my dad. Just wee snippets like that.
