Just got in from dropping P at preschool and i can hear running water. Check bathroom and kitchen - nothing. Cant hear it outside, only inside with door shut. Sounds like a massive leak under the hall floor and its GUSHING! Our stopcock is out in the street so i have managed to turn it off and turn the boiler off as there is now no water running to it. Just waiting for the plumber to come and rip my solid wood hall flooring up
To make matters worse we have a combi boiler so no water AT ALL on the hottest day so far. Just stocked up on mineral water but how totally rubbish.
Do you think our household insurance will. Cover damage in taking the floor up? Feeling really hacked off.

You sure that's what it is? Have you seen the damage? Might not be as bad as you think. Your insurance should cover it.

Oh no! Not sure about household insurance covering it, maybe get your policy out before they rip your flooring up - hope it's something simple and doesn't actually come to that x

They are meant to be here in 10 mins so we shall see i guess. Pretty sure its a leak as you could hear it directly under the floor and it stopped once the water was off

Yep my floor is coming up...

ahhh bugger. better to rip the floor up, than have the ceiling come in, the walls need re-plastering, and the floor need ripping up.

That's a shame, hoping the problem can be fixed quickly x

Balls what a pain, hope it is fixed with minimal damage.

Ah what a nightmare. Hope they've managed to fix it without doing too much damage to your house.

Oh no!! Hope there's not too much damage!

Well the water main is fixed but my wood floor looks cr@p. Just called the insurance company and we are covered but water damage claims have a £300 excess!! Not sure the floir would cost that much to fix so getting a quote done
