how do I get them off?..

I used to go back to the salon to have them removed but I believe there is something you can buy, like a polish remover, that will take them off. I'm struggling to remember what though so I'm hoping someone will come along and have the answer for you, sorry x

Thank you, did you have to pay to get them taken off?

You can soak the nails off in acetone nail polish remover or I think that boots have a specific soak off you can buy for gels/acrylics. However, I have found in the past that the best way is to go to a salon and have them done properly otherwise you could ruin your nails. I usually soak off and then have a new set done at the salon but think for a soak on its own it's about £10
A salon will usually charge £5 / £10 to remove them.
I generally wait until they are bubbling at the sides & just peel them off - leaves your nails very dry though so stock up on cuticle oil!
