Went to the opticians and they were trying to get me to buy two pairs of glass under their 2 4 1 scheme. Except I pointed out it actually was more expensive for me to buy two pairs of glass that way... I wonder how many people get caught out when they do things like that?

I bet loads of people get caught out.
Same at my opticians. 2 for 1, when you buy a pair that is AT LEAST £120. If I got to a discount place, that just sells glasses (doesn't do eye tests), then I can get some designer frames for £40.
People hear 2 for 1, and just assume they are getting a bargain.

You have to watch out in the supermarkets as well. Sometimes the offers can make it cheaper to buy two smaller packs than one large one but sometimes it costs more for the same amount. If you just see the offer and don't compare the prices then its easy to think you're getting a bargain when you're not.

I always work the price out on everything, takes me ages to do the shopping! But they so often con people. In Morrisons they ahev soemthing on special offer and then a far cheaper option to the side
