My sister is getting married in June and is spending the first part of her honeymoon staying in a cottage in st Ives in Cornwall, before they go abroad for 2 weeks. I was thinking that it might be a nice idea to contact the owner of the cottage and arrange to send a gift box down to then as a suprise on their arrival, I was thinking champagne, chocolates etc? is this something you would appreciate? any other ideas of things to include?
She was very supportive when B was born so wanted to do something nice for her as a surprise

I take it they're self catering? Then I'd arrange to have things like croissants and jam and fresh packet of coffee (or tea) put in as well so they can have a lovely breakfast on you. What a lovely idea.

Thanks all, glad it's a good idea, wasn't sure.
Great idea cedar, they are self catering, so breakfast things would be lovely for them too

If its possible to put it in a picnic hamper they could use that for picnics down there and have a lasting momento of the time there. I'd be tempted to ask the cottage owner if they can arrange fresh croissants, eggs etc from down there and send him the money. I love these kind of treats...very personal and wonderful x

Good idea! The cottage owner knows its their honeymoon as they gave them £100 off the booking so hopefully they will be happy to arrange it for me. I was stuck thinking of what to get them so wanted something a bit more personal that wouldn't cost me a fortune

is there a bath in the cottage? if so how about some nice bubble bath, so they can enjoy their champagne and chocolates in the bath?

Lovely ideas, I've just managed to get the name of the cottage out of her by saying were looking for somewhere to stay so I can find out a bit more about what is at the cottage
