So i've just found out that H has booked me two extra days off work after we've been to Harry Potter world and Legoland for my birthday. But i aren't allowed to know what we're doing.
I only found out because i asked mum when she picked E up from playgroup to find out when the last session would be, and it turns out it's the week we're in Legoland, and mum told me that she probably wouldn't be going to either the monday or thursday sessions. I knew she wouldn't be going on the monday, i didn't realise that she wouldn't be going on the thursday too
I hate suprises

How can anyone hate surprises?! Just go with it. Enjoy. I think it's lovely your H has done that.

I hate not knowing and not planning Belle, i know it's lovely and sweet that he's doing it, and trying to make my 30th special, but i just want to know!!!!
It's so hard when you're the control freak that plans everything to give up control and let someone else take over

I'm the same Chids. It's lovely he's planned something but I'd hate not knowing too

I hate surprised too , my h also is quite sh1t at presents so I'd be preparing myself for some sort of footballing trip or something , for example I asked for a designer handbag one Xmas and got...a DKNY briefcase, it was bigged up to be a huge surprise, It was a lovely idea but I don't ever and will never need to use a brief case , h checks with me now.
Your h always sounds as if he does good presents though so just try to relax and I'm sure itl be fab x

CP - it's probably a new ironing board or something, ours is a bit knackard now. He's also a football fan, so a trip to watch an international or pre-season friendly could be an option.
I just want to know, maybe i should be practicing my dissapointed face just in case.

I'm the same, I hate not knowing what's going on!
I got very unreasonably upset last year near my birthday when MrDD had made a load of plans and I didn't know what was happening other than my SIL was having C to look after for the day instead of my parents, and I needed to pack some stuff to go away the next day. It was a lovely weekend in the end, but I just wanted to know what was going to be happening with C while we were away and he wouldn't tell me (I posted about it at the time)
I did enjoy the surprise for my 30th thought, that's when he proposed and took me away to Rome for 3 nights although because I didn't know where we were going or how hot it might be I had all the wrong clothes!

Oh deedee, Rome would be a lovely suprise. I don't think its going to be anything like that, if E is going to be missing playgroup then it looks as though where ever or whatever it is then it's something for all of us rather than just H and I.

From another point of view...
I have just booked two days of for my H as a surprise for his birthday and would be really offended if he was saying he would hate it.
Just go with it and enjoy it, I would love a surprise!

I hate surprises too, I like to know where I'm going and what I need to wear gaga! You'll have a great time (and its not a surprise now!)

Go with the flow and enjoy!

1st baby, i can see where you're coming from, i'm already saving so we can do something special for H's 30th, and i'd be gutted if he didn't like it.
I need to just put it out of my mind, it's only just over 2 weeks away so i'll know sure enough.
