Not the Michael Jackson stylee dance.. the charity walk! My friend has asked me to do it in London with her on 10th of May. I'm undecided! Has anyone here done it and did you enjoy it?

I did the half one a few years ago. Mine probably isn't a good experience to base it on but I'll tell you anyway!!!
i did it with my boss/friend and we did a lot of training. Went out every Sunday am and also walked lunchtimes etc so we'd done the distance and more loads. Was an amazing atmosphere on the night and we decorated our bras etc. was all very well organised etc. my issues were the cold and then tiredness and then injury!! We started off too quick to get past people which was the wrong move! Then I started to get a blister so started walking funny to compensate so then got a sore knee and bad hip. The roads are mostly all open so you get to certain parts where you have to stop and wait for the lights to change so I think your temp drops very quickly and your legs start to cool down. So I then got bloody cramp!! All of that on top of feeling tired meant that I could hardly walk by the end!! I remember so vividly walking up the last bit and all these people cheering and you could smell this bacon sarnie van and I wanted to be soo sick as I could barely move my hip by then as I was in so much pain! The tiredness was unbelievable too. Stupidly I'd had a busy day that day when really I should have chilled out abit before.
Sorry that's a massive essay and I'm sure that my experience was a total one off but the chilling out before doing it and also not going off too quick would be my advice! I wore the clear poncho thing that they give you over my bra, but needed a cardi or something else on top of bra - but I didn't want to ruin my decorated bra!! Also bring energy tablets/chocolate. I was dieting so thought it would be silly but really needed something.
It really really was an amazing atmosphere and I raised so much for a fab charity...but that pain will never be forgotten in my head..and I've had babies lol!!!
I'd say go for it though!!

I did the half one a few years ago too (2005 I think ). It was a great atmosphere but I did find it hard going , I don't think I could have finished the full one! In saying that I probably didn't do half as much training as I should have. I think it took around 5 hours to complete the half so was about 630 by the time I got home and literally crawled into bed! It was a good experience but I did say never again.
