Recommend some you have been to that were nice, clean and had plenty for kids to do...

We went to Perran Sands in Cornwall with Haven.
Loads for kids to do on site, plus it is close to Lands end and Newquay for days out.
Been a couple of times, and really enjoyed it.

Butlins is great for kids but I hated it. We went to Bognor last Easter. SO much to do but too much iykwim? They have 3/4 main stages so there is always something going on but the things often clash. You need to decide what you want to see / do and get there early so you can get a good seat. The pool is massive and clean, food was what it was plus plenty of burger and snack places around. We stayed in the basic accommodation but if we were to go again I'd pay the extra for a decent hotel.

We went to Haven Newquay Wales last year and it's a lovely smaller site right on the coast with lush sea views from the caravans, 5 min walk to beach. Usual stuff like swimming pool, arcade, evening entertainment and kids activities throughout the day. At the end of April we're going to Pwhelli Haven which is a bigger site with a great looking pool with slides, soft play and the usual things that Haven has. Fantastic for kids, mine keep asking to go back. You probably don't want to come all the way to Wales though but I would recommend Haven.

I havent got a clue where anything is, a couple of hours drive is ok, any more and it feels a bit far for a weekend/short eek break - off to google what you have suggested x

If you look on the Haven/Butlins sites you can look on a map to see which sites are nearest you. You really don't want to travel for hours just for a short break.

OMG you are looking at £1000 for 3 nights in Butlins!

When you looking at? We went for a 3 night break last Easter, basic accommodation but food package, was a few hundred quid. We then spent loads there despite most of the stuff being free!

H's birthday is August so its peak times!

Oh god no don't do Butlins for that! Get a cottage or somewhere. Have you looked at Isle of Wight?

lookec at so many hun but the cost is stupid!

have you had a look at Bluestone? That;s where we're off to on Friday. It's a smaller scale centre parcs without the massive hoik in prices in the school holidays and far superior accommodation. Gorgeous location as well

It's cos it's the holidays. YOu might be better doing something out of season and just have a night away.
03/04/2013 at 16:32
Thanks Livi - still a fair whack of money isn't it for a couple of nights away.
Look like we'll just be going out for a meal lol!
03/04/2013 at 16:34
What budget did you have in mind? How many for etc?
03/04/2013 at 16:47
It'll probably be just us 4 and as cheap as possible. I was hoping £500 or less! Doesnt look likely. Another option is to book a family friendly hotel by the coast.
03/04/2013 at 16:49
any date in August or you fixed?
03/04/2013 at 17:19
5th august or anytime that week x
03/04/2013 at 17:42
Blimey it is difficult! I'd be booking a night in posh hotel and slap up meal.
