Can anyone tell me which tube(s) I need to get on to get from Paddington to High Holborn?

Is High Holborn different to Holborn?
Holborn is the Bakerloo line, change at Oxford Circus and then the Central line

Not a Londoner but looking at the map if you mean Holburn you'd get on the Northern Line and change at Oxford Circus and then take Central. But a real Londoner may come along and correct me.

Actually other routes may be available:

Whereabouts in High Holborn? Check Chancery Lane might be nearer your destination.
From Paddington - Southbound Circle to Notting hill Gate- then Eastbound on central line to Holborn.

Depends which end of High Holborn you need, Holborn station is the central line or Piccadilly, Chancery Lane is the other end of High Holborn. I would get the circle or hammer smith & city from paddington to kings x and then the Piccadilly (be aware the circle goes from a different platform to the h&c) so you'll need to pick one, or, if you want the other end and don't like tubes you could carry on the circle / h&c to faringdon and walk 10 mins via hatton garden
See I was thinking avoid Oxford Circus at all costs! Depends when you're travelling.
Personally I'd get a cab
Kat will know better than me.

Amused that everyone has said a different route

Where are you headed to? I would go with the Circle and Central route as it avoids Oxford Circus which at this time of year is rammed with Christmas shoppers. You could also potentially get the Hammersmith and City line to Farringdon and walk but it depends where on High Holborn you need to be. I used to work near Holborn tube so know the local area if that helps

I would either get the bakerloo line down to Oxford circus and change although it will be busy and then get the central line. Or get the district or circle line and change at nottinghill gate and change to the central line.

Thanks so much girls. It will be after Xmas; I am starting a new job and have to go to their London office for a few days of training. I hate the tube so was thinking of getting a cab from Paddington! KK; the address definitely says High Holborn; they are near a Starbucks apparently. Christ; I just know I'm going to get lost...
05/12/2012 at 18:22
ummmm do you have any idea how many Starbucks there are in London?????? Everywhere is within five minutes of one around there! You can get a bus but it will take about twice as long as the tube.

Email from HR lady says " the nearest station to our offices is Holborn station. Come out of Holborn station and turn left down into High Holborn. Cross over the road at EAT (no idea what EAT means) they are on the left hand side next to Starbucks. Ring any bells KK?!

This is an Eat -
And ps just had a look, taxi will be about £15. First day I'd be tempted but watch the time/fare if you're travelling in rush hour.

Oooh that's across the road from H's office! Holborn station is definitely your best option. I wouldn't use a taxi in London unless desperate.

The bit from Holborn to the office isn't bothering me; it's the getting from Paddington to Holborn that is stressing me out. I despise the tube.

Know where you need to get to. Holborn definitely closest tube. How much walking would you be prepared to do to avoid the tube? You can walk to there in 15 minutes from tottenham court road tube or aldwych both of which are on a direct bus route from paddington. It'll take longer but I've been known to get up earlier in the morning just to take a route that doesn't involve the tube.

I'd walk from Paddington to Holborn if it meant I could avoid the tube! Thanks so much for your help.
