and I am struggling for presents for him. So I'm after ideas.
He's going to be 4 and this may sound strange but he isn't really bothered about toys. He is more interested in football and plays for hours and hours every day. He will play with toys when I physically get them out and tell him to play with them but he really isn't bothered. He likes to play on the Wii, his DS, tablet and phone.
H thought we could get him some outdoor toys but I don't think they'd get played with as he will just play football. He has got a bike, a scooter, a car and a motorbike so them type of stuff are out.
We are getting him some bigger goals which will be his main present and we've got him a couple of little bits, some new sun glasses, a cap, a Nerf water gun but other than that I'm stuck. He would love the Barcelona and a new Sunderland football strip but the new ones don't come out for another couple fo weeks which is typical.
Ideas greatly appreciated.

Does Sunderland do a Stadium tour?

I'm not sure but H is going to take him to his first game in September and he's been to the Stadium before.
I never thought it would be so hard getting presents for a 4yr old but I think the fact that he plays with bigger kids and E being older is why he isn't bothered about toys. For him its better to play with gadgets and football of course.

I'd get him the strips when they come out. How about football boots, shin pads, goalie gloves? Does he play cricket or tennis or rugby? As long as he has something to open on the day and you get him the kits when they come out I don't think he'd be that bothered.
And fwiw L hardly plays with toys either.

Belle he would love football boots but they start at a 10 and he's only just gone into a 9. I forgot I got him shin pads yesterday to go with his goals and he's already got goalie gloves. He isn't interested in anything but football. I know what you mean about having something to open, I'm just overthinking as always. You should of seen how chuffed he was with his new shoes, you'd think he never got anything
Do you think that L would play with toys more if he didn't know about all the gadgets etc? My neice and nephew (4&5) haven't got a clue about any of the stuff so still play with toys all of the time.

Ah bless him getting all excited at his new shoes. What about a couple of new balls too? A boy can never have too many of them.
We don't have gadgets so it can't be that. Well we have phones but he rarely plays on them. He's happy knocking about in garden, playing games or just mucking about with the girls. He's got train sets galore but never gets them out. A massive car mat & hundreds of cars but never gets them out. It may be different if we were in more than we are maybe.

E is going to be 6 and we are stumped too.
What about a cd player? Thats what we have got E and promised her money to buy things in toys r us.
WHat abotu those football boots without studs? Boot bag? New football?
We went in Wilkinsons and bought about 5 things that are arts and crafts things for her to do and so she has stuff to open on the day.
I think kids these days are hgard to buy for as they have eveything already or like things too grown up. E got a tablet for christmas and its rarely used, I think its more us that think they should have them.

1stBaby I agree it's 99% of the time us worrying we haven't got enough for them. I know deep down all Louie would like is playdough, I just can't bring myself to buy it in Winter. He's got some now for playing in the garden.

It's T's 4th birthday Thursday and we are stuck. Everyone keeps asking what he wants but I have no idea other than the Zurg toy from toy story!
We are going to upgrade his DVD player I think, my mum and dad bought him one a couple of years ago but he needs a better one.
Other than that..

1stbaby I totally agree, its me thinking he should have more stuff but he will be over the moon with his bigger goals.
I'm just busy looking for some football pjs but thinking I might of left it a bit late.
I might pop into Wilko's at the weekend and see if I can get him some crafty bits.
I'll have a look at DVD's and get him some sweets as well.
Easily pleased and easily bribed..
