I was going to get her a desk because she broke hers and loves it but very inconveniently daddy has fixed it so now she doesn't need a new one. She wants another designafriend but that's all she's said. Oh she mentioned tonight maybe dressing up stuff. She isn't into anything in particular really, loves playing on our tablet and laptop, has a leap pad so I don't really want to get her anything like that. Mums of 6 year old girls - what are your girls into? I'm not one for buying for buying's sake but at the age of 6 she will be disappointed with just one present at Christmas! It's not about how much it costs, she will just moan when her sisters have a pile of presents and she doesn't!

When my SD was 6, she was REALLY into hair accessories, and Hello kitty. anything to do with those, was a winner. If your daughter is into those, poundland currently have hello kitty and moshi monster hair stuff in. I have bought some for my niece.
She also loved reading, so we bought her a load of new books.

I've bought my nearly 6yr old niece some roller skates and my 7yr old niece some sticky mosaics, a furby rocker and some tattoo set. A new bike? Scooter?
13/11/2013 at 20:32
Thanks both. She does like Hello Kitty stuff AK so good idea.
SW she's only just had a birthday and was stumped for what to get her then too! Got her a new scooter and she really doesn't need another bike. Roller skates are a great idea, where did you get yours from?
Does she like Barbie? My 7yo niece has just told mummy that Barbie is for babies so all the stuff we've bought is being returned. Instead I'm getting her a monster high electronic journal some hello kitty hair crimpers and a bath smellies set

No she's not into Barbie at all Belle. Shame you've had to return everything! An electronic journal might be an idea, she loves her little diary with a lock & key on, I'll look into that thank you.

I got the no fear quad skates from sports direct, only £19.99. E is getting retro skates which were bought online from somewhere I can't remember.

So far my 6 yr old has a lego friends vet and school, mini lalaloopsys, a onesie, dressing gown, annual, and will prob get roller skates as well.

Thanks SW I've got a Sports Direct not far from me so will take a look at those.
Thanks gummybear, F has Playmobil, bought her loads last year but never plays with it :-( I wish she did as presents would be so easy! What are those lalaloopsys about, I've heard of them but not sure exactly what they do/are about?

L is 7 and has asked for a super grafix. It's a drawing thing. Last year she got a secret password journal which she loves. Also got an iPod touch from father c last year. She's got really into her music (one direction!)

Thanks Trayloub. I am liking the idea of a secret diary. I think she's still a bit young for an Ipod touch as she doesn't really look after stuff well enough to justify that much money! She's got a cheaper MP3 player. Oh god I dread when she gets into boy bands, luckily at the moment she loves my music!

Does she have a chair for her desk? Last year we got my then 5 year old a chair for hers. Its was something like a tenner and is an adult fold up style one from Homebase in bright pink. She went on all year about wanting one and was thrilled to get it.
I'm struggling with ideas for my 6 year old too. She's asked for the Wanted cd (although she only likes one track she doesn't really know them). She's also asked for Mary Poppins on DVD. We'll be getting books for her (or asking others to get them). She's been enjoying authors like D King Smith (the man who wrote 'Babe') also Tumtum and Nutmeg books (there's a whole series of these).

I was hoping you'd reply on here Cedar as I remembered you've got a similar aged girl to me. Her desk has got a seat incorporated otherwise that would have been a good idea thank you.
I will get her a CD and books, in fact I've already bought a Disney collection of books for her 2nd hand. I never thought she'd be difficult to buy for as previous Christmases there's always lots that she's wanted. Sometimes it would be easier if she was 'into' stuff like Disney princesses or dolls but she just isn't. Like I said before, what she loves doing best apart from reading etc is playing on either the tablet or laptop and she hasn't got a DS but I just think I have to limit her time on the computer as it is so a DS is probably not the way to go.
14/11/2013 at 12:11
I'm not much help as I'm a bit stumped too. And I wouldn't buy a DS for the same reason. She already knows how to turn on our pc and find games on it, then there's the Ipad as well. We'd never get her to stop if she had a DS as well.
I have thought about a small camera as she enjoys using ours to take photos but I might save that idea for her birthday. She might enjoy roller skates though so I might look at those.
I did think about getting her a new everyday dress as she doesn't really have any for winter but all the shops are full of party dresses instead....

I bought F a gorgeous party dress for her birthday and she doesn't really need any more clothes. She has a Vtech camera thing I bought her years ago and she's not that bothered by taking photos with it. I've had 2nd thoughts about roller skates because she'd need a lot of one-to-one for ages with them to get her used to them which will be difficult as I have 2 younger children. I might get some next year when she'd hopefully adapt to them quicker. She loves craft stuff but had quite a bit for her birthday. I'm definitely thinking a one of those electronic personal diaries but now need to choose which one.

My daughter loves Sylvanian families so she is getting that, and some stuff from Claire's accessories (bracelets, hair clips, etc.). also getting her a couple of disney DVDs, some reading books (animal ark), some clothes and new party shoes

KC I wish F was into something like Sylvanian Families but she just doesn't play with stuff like that. Such a pain!
