So I have my evening outfit sorted now-thank you to everyone who helped me work in the fancy dress whilst i still got to wear my new clothes :)
we are meeting at 12pm for cocktail making and then i presume lunch and more bars/shopping for the rest of the afternoon. we can check in the hotel at 2pm and I will be changing into my night time outfit later.
I was thinking of wearing a denium skirt, tights, ballet pumps during the day and going for a preppy look. I didn't want to wear jeans as I am wearing my new black skinnies for the night time and wanted to look like I'd changed and made an effort. We have to wear a black vest/t-shirt with a photo of the b2b on during the day, so i wondered what other top to wear with that? I think my usual school run look of a fleece and anorak won't cut it! I have a blazer to wear at the night time but I think that it will look too smart for the day and I want to be warm because I will be travelling in what I wear on the day.

Do you have a biker style jacket? I don't know if I would wear ballet pumps with tights, do you have wedge boots or Uggs or any kinda boots? Even ankle boots

If you want to wear ballet shoes I'd wear leggings under the skirt instead of tights. Or wear the tights and wear boots like Kellfi said. If it's a vest you're wearing, you could put a long-sleeved top underneath that?

I agree about the pumps, if you are wearing tights I would wear boots.
What about a different colour jeans to black? Have you got any coloured jeans you could wear with the vest top and pumps?

so ballet pumps and tights are a fashion faux pas? what type of leggings would you wear under the skirt?and do you wear bare feet in the pumps?
the only boots I have are some mid calf black leather flat boots that are very worn in (I wear them all the time). I bought some shoe boots but for the night time. I'd rather have a flat heel during the day as I plan on wearing heels at night and my feet won't last if I've worn heels in the day!
I've only got dark denim jeans which are a bit too big for me now I've lost some weight and a very faded pair of black jeans that aren't nice enough for a day out. I suppse I could buy some new ones but I'm inbetween sizes and holding off buying lots of new clothes.

TBF I'd wear ballet pumps and tights no problem. It's the denim skirt I have issues with but that is personal taste. Just please whatever you do don't wear leggings and the denim skirt. Please.
Also don't go buying more clothes to wear. It's a waste of money.

Ooops ignore my comment about leggings & skirt then! I don't own a denim skirt though so wouldn't know anyway!

I don't either Mossy. I have a hatred of them hence my comment but what's even worse is leggings underneath. I hate trousers under skirts. It's wrong on so many levels.

See, I would wear leggings and pumps, never tights and pumps.

I wear leggings and pumps but I don't like leggings under a skirt either.

I don't really own any skirts apart from summer ones that don't need leggings underneath, is it still ok to wear leggings under tunic type dresses (too short to go without) or is that a no-no too now?

I'm really confused now! I was going to wear black opaque tights and the ballet pumps, so not nude/clear tights. It's a straight line skirt, very plain and dark denim. I've got another week to think about it.

Belle always says no to that Mossy, but I would say yes lol
Carole, you wear what you feel comfy in lovel xxx

Carole it's all personal taste. I have a dislike of denim skirts but I don't see an issue wear it with tights and pumps.
Mossy I've never liked tunic tops and leggings but again all personal taste.
