What does everyone think about taking children out of school to go on holiday during term time? My daughter hasn't started school yet, but I'm already worrying about this! Saw something on TV a while back where a teacher was saying it's really irresponsible parenting to do this, but surely lots of parents can't afford to go away in the school holidays because they put all the prices up! We always go away end of September, when it's cheap and much quieter, and I don't see the harm in taking young children away from school if it's just for a week...am i the only one who thinks teachers are over-reacting?!

TBH I wouldn't-although I agree with you, there is no harm whatsoever with little ones, and it is much cheaper to go term time, which is just crazy-like everything in life money making!!!!
I wouldn't do it,simply because I want them used to term time/holiday time and big fella feels same. In fact I don't know why we say this,we can't afford to go abroad!!!!!!

I think the schools forget whose kids they are sometimes
