We have decided to put our house on the market and the agent is coming around to value it next week. So we're busy tarting it up. Do you have any suggestions we should definatelt do, that are quick&cheap. What should we not bother doing?

I think the agent will have an idea of value before they even come inside. I only tidied up for viewings, not for the agents. I even piled up loads of junk in the hallway when they came to do photos, as I knew they wouldn't do a photo of the hall!

We did ours to make it look nice in photos and cover up any little flaws. I have no idea if things make a difference, but we cleaned the windows, tipexed the chips in the paint work, tidied the garden and drive for the photos and things like that. Also, we got 3 valuations from different agents so we could compare valuations and commissions and choose which suited us best.

We had a valuation last weekend. They don't really care what the house looks like in terms of stuff in it, just make sure it's tidy enough to get around. As said they already have an estimation of what it's worth before they come and then they look for structural work etc that a buyer might need to do and go from there.
