We are flying back to the Midlands next week so what should I be getting for the kids?? I'm sending my mum off to the shops this week and suggested a snowsuit for M (is it necessary?) and have a hat, gloves and scarf for E. Bearing in mind we left the house at 6:30am this morning and E complained she was cold when it was 23 degrees
What are your children wearing now?

My boys are wearing, long sleeve tops, coats and hats. If we are outside much then I put a jumper on them too. It's windy too! Safe journey x

I'm south as you know so Lou is still in t shirt with coat and on some days a vest underneath. However it was freezing this weekend and wet so I've invested in jumpers for him.

I had to scrape the windscreen this morning, so it's getting cold!

I'm Midlands based, and my boys are in vest, long sleeved top, jumper and coat when we go out. Broken out the hats, gloves and soon, scarves too.

Very cold in the Midlands at the moment! Haven't looked outside yet, but have read on FB this morning of local people having to scrape ice off their cars this morning - this is when I'm so glad my car lives in the garage overnight!

I'm in the Midlands and have just seen a neighbour scraping ice off his car window screen

My Mum was scraping ice off her car at 5:30 this morning... H left at 7.30am, and his didn't need scraping. Could see that it had been frosty though. (not that I went outside. I stayed indoors, wrapped in my dressing gown)

you might like to get some fleecy pjs as well as it getting cold at night. not sure if you are staying with family and if they have heating on lots in the evening/over night.

It's freezing here today, it was only 3c when I was in the car half an hour ago. I didn't have to scrape the windscreen but if I was going to work an hour or so earlier I would of had to.
Winter is here!!! J has hat, scarf and gloves on for school this morning as well as his polo shirt, jumper and thick coat and he was still cold. He is also wearing fleecy pjs for bed.

I'm up north ish but it were 2 degrees when I went out 9am on Saturday morning. My E is in long sleeve vests (definely need these on Ms list), tights and leggings or leggings and socks, plus long sleeve top, jumper if we go out for the car and hat and coat if we are out of the car. Then she has the Morrck over her legs also in the pram. She wont tolerate the padded-ness of a snowsuit, an i've not seen any LOs round here in one yet (though have I not just heard we're expecting snow?). How is M on his feet? Wanting to stand wherever you go? if he's anything like E? She wants to be standing wherever we are, inside or out, but is too young for wellies. So i've got socktype slippers with non slip bottoms and i've ordered some waterproof wraps for over normal shoes from H&M for £5. Keeping her strapped in atm though to the pram! We've also got a puddle suit in storage ready for rain!
I also noticed tesco do kids thermal tops etc for your E's age IIRC.

Oh goodness, under 10 degrees?! I'm getting fleece PJs then, good idea SW. I'll get things that we can layer up with. I can't believe it has been 2 years since we came over in winter, I've forgotten just how cold it can get! I can't wait to wear proper winter clothes!!
