I got mine done last Thursday, so 12 days ago and it is still really good. It usually starts peeling by now with me.

My toes it last weeks and weeks, in fact the colour I have on now has been on a month!
My fingers, 10 days if I'm lucky.
For my holiday this year I'm keeping my acrylics but having gel polish on top so it lasts but won't peel or fad.

I'm using gellish as it seems to last better. 2 weeks for me but only because my nails grow so I need the paint redone.
I have booked in for acrylics too for hols. My toes last ages as well, I have the hot pink on them at the moment, but I am thinking that I am going get navy with glitter on my toes

Three weeks for me and I'm always using pliers/ tools in my job so it lasts ages but only darker coloured ones like the chill red. The French manicure lasted days so I went back and had it taken off and red put on as even the salon said colours last longer.

I fancy trying Gellish actually
23/04/2013 at 10:31
Fi it's all the same just different brands / colours I've had every gel type polish going. I think Gellish have the most coclour choice, Daisy Gels being a close second.

My nail tech told my Gellish was different to Shellac lol, I got a long explanation that Gellish was basically a gel polish, so a fine layer of gel, but Shellac is like a shreddie, more flexible and your nails can breathe better and oil penetrates it

Gelish should last longer as it's a gel polish whereas shellac is only a power polish. If applied correctly and gently cared for, a gel polish should last 3 weeks but its all down to the application. I can't make my own last 3 weeks only because it's harder to apply your own!

I've no idea what's different, I just go to a salon where they only have gellish.
Ah, LB, so my Nail Tech was telling the truth then.
23/04/2013 at 10:46
Yup she was!
23/04/2013 at 10:49
Are you a Nail Tech LB?
23/04/2013 at 10:57
No I'm a lawyer but I originally wanted to be one and so I did the training and technically I am a qualified nail tech but only do friends etc and not for profit just because I like it!
23/04/2013 at 11:03
So, what would you recommend then? Shellac or Gelish?
23/04/2013 at 11:04
But it's all long lasting polish yes? Therefore the same!

Thats them after 12 days with the regrowth.
23/04/2013 at 11:31
Gellish lasts longer on me but nothing lasts for holiday as the oils/suncreams wreck it!
23/04/2013 at 11:39
Thats why I am getting acrylics for hols CW
23/04/2013 at 12:06
Gelish personally but only because I'm tight and want it to last!
Acrylics are best for hols as all gel lifts in my experience.
