I know that sounds stoopid. Elliott has a bad cough atm, occasionally he coughs enough to make himself sick- so its not 'proper' sick its him not being able to control that gag reflex when he's coughed a lot.
He is fine otherwise- no temp, quite jolly just coughing a lot and not as much of an appetite as usual. H took him to school this morning and he was running round the playground and it made him cough a lot and then he was sick, H explained to his teacher why he was sick and his teacher was happy for him to be at school, but H got a call at lunchtime to collect him as they said he was poorly.
H said he's been fine this afternoon though he was asleep on the sofa when I got home at 6.30 and is still asleep in my bed in his uniform! Though I think this is tiredness rather than illness as he's been up a lot coughing in the night.
Now I don't know whether or not to send him tomorrow, he'll prob be much the same in the morning- fine in himself but with a bad cough, of course there's a chance he could throw up if he runs round a lot. Shall I send him in or keep him at home ??!

I always have this dilemma.
I think if they are not potentially nastily infectious and okay in themselves I send them in BUT I did make a mistake with B in Feb when he was suspected mengititus on the Monday and by Wednesday morning he seemed fine but on the Thursday was rough again. I think you can only see how he is on the morning

Funnily enough I had the same dilema on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Monday night J wasn't himself, then through the night coughed loads which kept him awake and he was sick. It was his nativity play on Tuesday so I dosed him up with medicine and sent him to school. I fully expected a phone call to collect him but they never rang but when I picked him up from school and he had a temp, was shivering, was sick after his tea and was in bed by 6.30. Yesterday he was still a bit poorly but less so than Tuesday so I sent him in.

Thanks both, we didn't send him, he had quite a bad night coughing and looked wiped out this morning so we decided a day indoors would be best. Also I was feeling awful this morning and don't think I would have been well enough to take him, so it worked out for the best. He has actually been pretty ok though!

I don't send him if vomiting or diarrhoea as it spreads like wild fire. If he has a high temp but is his normal self then I send him but if he's tired, quiet, listless with a temp I don't send
