Back in Sept they were organising the work Christmas do and I put £20 down towards it as I thought by the time we got to Christmas I would be skint and then wouldn't want to go.
As it turned out I didn't go and my line manager who ahd taken the £20 said I'd get my money back.
She is always skint and often difficult to talk to about things. How would you approach it?
Written very quickly and won't be able to respond until tonight. Cheers all.

If she's always skint and difficult to talk to she may make up excuses if you takes softly softly approach. I would be quite blunt about it and say 'when can I get the money from the Christmas party back?' Maybe there's a more polite way than that actually! But if you say 'do you have...' She can answer with no and weasel out of it.

Just ask her outright. I hate people that do this sort of thing, it is NOT her money and it's not as if you have money to throw at people QI when you are raising your two little ones alone. I'm quite annoyed for you, I'll phone her if you like?!
