Was having trouble sleeping over the weekend, so was doing a spot of FB stalking. I thought i'd look for H's brother. H has nothing to do with him, or his folks, so I have never met them, and don't know what they look like.
Well, I found BIL, who has a gloriously open FB profile, so I had a proper good nose. He is the absolute double of my H, apart from no ginger hair, and sh!tter tattoos. I also discovered where he works (in Birmingham city centre, so could totally just go in and say Hi - but I won't ), and that he has a little boy, who will be 1 on Wednesday.
The freaky thing about his son, is that he has the exact same colour hair as my J. We assumed J got his hair from my Mums side, as she was blonde as a child (and a fake blonde now), but he obviously gets it from H's side.
I also found a pic of H's parents. H looks like his Dad too.
H has changed his number so many times, none of his family would know how to track him down, so part of me thinks, this will be a good way of finding out if anything were to happen to his parents, as I know his Mum isn't in the best of health.
H didn't seem too impressed, and his first question was "you didn't add him as a friend, did you?" - I didn't.
I have never been bothered about meeting H's family, but I feel a little weird about it now, knowing J has a similar aged cousin, and an uncle he doesn't know. I know why H has nothing to do with his parents, but never asked about his Brother...

You going to ask about his brother?

It is a shame if they never meet but then I suppose it depends on the background story as to whether you would want to ever meet them. I would definitely ask H about it if he won't get too p!ssed off talking about it.

I'm going to ask H about his brother, but I know he won't want to make contact.

Definitely ask. H had a similar thing but I never really understood why. He wouldn't explain so that was that.
