She was in the wrong. I asked her to sit quietly while C had her milk and not to wind her up. She wound her up and pulled her about to try and play. I didn't say anything nasty, just that I wanted to go to her room and try and think why she did it and then tell me. Yes I raised my voice but she does it everyday! Patience is thin.
She text me this
'Now I know why you and dad split up'

Oh Beez I'm so sorry, how hurtful. How are you going to treat that one? Big hugs x
14/02/2013 at 18:25
Oh Beez, how old is she?
14/02/2013 at 18:29
Ooooh what a madam. Don't take it to heart B Im afraid to say this is the beginning of the i hate you period. Just rise above it and drink gin x

She's ten. She's not a malicious kind of girl but I guess those hormones whizzing around... Got to prepare for fun times ahead.
She just came down and said 'I'm sorry I shouldn't have sent that message'
I said it did upset me but I'll ALWAYS love her. It's so bloody hard, how much allowance do I give her because of this shitty phase? A little bit, none? Plus she was vomming last night, I sometimes feel like such a failure.

Oh dear! Don't take it to heart, she just knows how to get to you x

I wouldn't give any leaway Beez. Reassurance yes but I think you should just discipline as you always would have done in the past. If she ever implied she was struggling I'd just have the, yes so am I so let's help and support each other approach. Her past guidelines won't move she is a good clever girl.

If anything I suppose I need to be more consistent now.
She's gone to bed early and not made a fuss so lets hope that's the end of it. For now!

She seems a good girl so I'm sure that will be it x

Until the next time SW

ah, it's horrible isn't it... I remember my eldest turning round to me and saying I hate you, I am going to live with my dad... she hadn't seen him for 2 years and it made me mad. I'd fed her, dressed her, cuddled her, done her homework with her struggling by on virtually no money, going without food so they could eat, he didn't pay maintenance. £109 a week we had to live on, me and 3 kids... I shouted at her, really badly, I was so close to belting her that day..
We may be parents but we are human too, with feelings. Unfortunately that's not on a childs radar, she didn't mean it, she is just lashing out just as mine did, it's easy to blame the resident parent for everything.
Don't let it get to you, she loves you, you are her mom, they always hurt those they love the most. She has apologised, she knows she did wrong. xx

I do think consistancy, I know if I'd ever been given a bit if slack I'd have ran with it lol. Loads of hugs from here Beez, I'm sure there will be hiccups but the poor girl didn't put up any objection really and apologised, she sounds like a real gudden but as my gran would say look what she came from, of course she is!

You poor thing. They can be such madams. I had my little sister living with me as a teenager and she knew exactly which buttons to push... xx
14/02/2013 at 19:49
Sorry I can't help you... Stay strong bootiful. Luffs you. x
14/02/2013 at 20:11
Thank you all again xx
Nice to know this is all normal!
14/02/2013 at 20:22
Totally normal. I totally hated this stage with Lauren, worse when she went to senior for the first year but it does ease and she does love you. You are doing a great job x
14/02/2013 at 20:35
Sounds like she realised she was in the wrong and came to apologise which is a good sign that you have a decent child there, Beez. You're definitely not a failure, when I think of what I was like at the same age...! and even then I like to think I turned out okay in the end Sounds like you are doing a good job x

I have nothing to add but wanted to send you a weird Internet hug xxx
