Took J to the Barbers yesterday, and he asked for a grade 3 all over. I let him. Big mistake. H hit the roof last night, he says J looks like a little thug. He does normally have quite long hair, so it is very different, but hair grows, right? It'll grow back soon won't it? He's never had a say in it before, and I didn't see the harm for one cut. I hope it grows quickly though, or it will be mighty quiet in our house with H giving me the silent treatment.!

Ah don't worry too much, it will grow back pretty quickly. I always worry when I take J to the Barbers that they'll take to much off and the times they have it hasn't took long for it to grow back.

I really hope it's soon. I hadnt really thought about what other people would think - I know my parents will hate it too. Poor J. Luckily he thinks it is the best thing ever!

My H has a 2 all over and it grows in really quickly, within a couple of weeks it needs doing again.
I remember when I was doing H's hair and I had it on the wrong guard, I had it on number one and started shaving his hair before I realised so it all had to be a number one, he looked awful, he looked like a convict and his mam and nanna were mortified.

Oh C as long as J is happy I wouldn't worry. Your H will soon get used to it.

I don't know what grade 3 looks like, must be quite short? I'm always wary of them cutting N's too short but his ends up looking like a mushroom after a few weeks. His hair grows super fast!

C has a 2 at the sides, and it grows SO quick.
I do my Dads, he has a 1 all over, and I have to re-do it every 2-3 weeks as it grows super quick.

I must say I'd hit the roof if H let N have his hair cut in a Grade 3!

I wouldn't worry about it. What has he said to J about it? I hope he hasn't let on to him that he hates it.

It'll be long in a week, dont worry! Guess your H just had a shock! If little ones happy, there's no harm done x

Hep- I'm not sure what came over me, I just thought of all the times there were for him to choose, now would be good -it will have grown before summer photos!
malteser - he hasn't told J he hates it, but he told me he's not going to tell him he likes it if J asks him because he doesnt want him to ever want it again. I am seriously in the dog house. Almost a role reversal, it's normally H who cocks things up, not me! Doh.

I remember my dad hated a haircut my mum chose for me as a lo, he was beside himself. In all fairness I did look like a boy. My Fran used to complain each time my brother had his cut as she liked it long and wavy. It's hair, it grows. If outsiders could think a child looked like a thug well they are the mad ones. Give it a week or two and get the sides cut leaving the top and it will look great.

Well I cut L's hair with the clippers on a number 3 every couple of months and his thuggish side has yet to appear
Please don't worry if you don't like it, before you know it it will have grown.

Do you like it? B has a grade 4 all over, has done for ages now. He has naturally spikey hair so it suits him. It grows really fast - to maintain would need cutting 3-4 weeks. I let it get a bit longer though and get it done about every 6 weeks.
