Next door neighborus have been away for the weekend and had I some stuff they might want, so got the kids in bed and then rang their doorbell. No answer. So got the lawnmover out and started cutting the grass. The bloke appears and said 'You woke the baby' (she's 11 months). I said I'm sorry was it the lawnmover and he said no when you rang the bell.
Now I've put the lawn mower away, even though I needed to do more in case it keeps the baby up but I probably should feel guilty but don't really. And now feel bad for not feeling guilty

I can't believe he came and moaned at you for ringing the doorbell!
I would be more annoyed about you mowing past 7pm, however I appreciate you thought they were out!

I didn't mow past 7, I was mowing at 6.30 Although it is difficult knowing when to do it because it is difficult to do when the kids are up. Someone further down the street has jsut started mowing now.

Someone else has started mowing literally just now!

Maybe I'm just an anal mother but it really pees me off when people do noisy stuff after 7pm, our local ice cream man came round at 7.45 tonight, horrid music blaring! He must know that most people round here don't put there kids to bed at a decent time! (my kids were in bed and Elliott got up to gaze out of the window!)

I wouldn't ideally do things after 7pm either but I do think there are a lot of adults out there that work full time and the only they get to do things are on an evening, especially with the nights staying light for longer I can udnerstand why they do it. I certainly personally can't do things efore I go to work as I leave at 7.20 am and there are lots round here that leave before me.
