Is it wrong to feel really bored at the moment and want to go back to work? I feel as if I need a bit of a life outside if children.. I thinK J would hate me for leaving him though..

How old is he? He would soon get used to it.
What did you do, pre children?

I hear you hun, I want to get a job too!
That's just how I feel! I work three days a week, I need a balance. Nothing wrong with that x

He's 8 months now, and I do have T at home he's nearly 4 but I have mil around mon-weds and weekends. I've always worked in a salon as a stylist. I fancy a change though. Having said that, hairdressing is more flexible than a 9-5 office job

Could you not do something like mobile hairdressing until T goes to school then go from there?
3 days would be perfect. 1st baby what can we do.. A new venture??

I do that already SW, although it isn't a lot at all. I could advertise for it I suppose, round where I live now.

What else would you fancy?
08/03/2013 at 14:22
I've always fancied a change but I think hair is what I should do, a local salon would be ideal for me, a couple of days a week. It's just the Saturdays that I hate

I am stuck because I dont earn enough to pay for childcare so going back to work would cost me money. Its so hard. I do lots of volutary stuff for the PTA and organise things but it does get mundane day in day out!
08/03/2013 at 14:31
I don't think I would earn much over child care cost either 1st baby but think it would be more for the social life. Maybe I will carry on with what I'm doing and act on it when T is at school full time. It will be better in the summer!!

I was definitely ready to go back to work when I did (C was 10.5 months), much longer and I'd probably have gone mad! I'm not made to be a SAHM.

I've been at home for about 4 years now. Feel a bit dead inside at the minute :(
J has been the hardest this week thou with teething and not sleeping, it makes me feel like I need to get out all the time!

Lauren I totally get what you are saying, thats why i do pta stuff as I get to have coffee and chats with people! lol
I'm always around if you wanted to pop out for a bit, we can always meet somewhere or you are welcome here again if you can find it! lol Gemma is here next Weds I think so if you are free come along too x
I think its a million times worse in the miserable weather. In the summer I am out sunning myself, having picnics in the park and pub lunches and hate the idea of going to work!

I only want a winter job too!
thats really nice of, thanks for the invite again. I will FB you x

I've been a SAHM since 2003, pretty much straight out of school.
Just before I had J, I was all set to get a job. I'd completed lone parent courses to update my skills, created a new (very limited) CV, all wasted. I feel so bad for saying this, but i'm a SAHM for J, because I was for C. He deserves the same attention C got, but after nearly 10 years, I've had enough.

It definitely takes its toll AK, I feel lucky in one way but there are days when I could go out of my mind! I'm lucky to have made some friends from here as all my others friends work full time really.
My J is such a mummy's boy as well, I would really feel bad leaving him when I don't with T. I understand what your saying about the same attention
