Its E's birthday next month and she is having 4 friends over from 4pm and sleeping over.
In the past when we've had a party in the house, the girls have dressed up, got their hair and make up, nails done and played party games like musical bumps/statues, corners etc but I think she's a bit past all of that now.
So what can I do to keep them occupied for a few hours before sending them to her room to do whatever before settling down to watch a dvd?
We have a Wii in the living room which could be used if they wanted.
We are getting her a new karaoke machine for her birthday.
She has loads of make up/nail stuff.
Ideas greatly appreciated.

Paint canvass bags that they can take cake home in?
A girl at my work had her nieces 10th birthday at her flat. There was some other girls (maybe 4/5) and she taught them Zumba in the living room, and made up a routine
Then she had a little buffet and mocktails
What about cupcake making?

We used to always try to stay up and watch scary films and then plan a midnight feast! They may be a bit young thou? I think you've got lots for them to do

Cup cake making or cake decorating sounds far too messy, I'm a bit of a stress head when it comes to cooking with the kids so would hate 5 girls baking in my kitchen
I'll certainly not be teaching any Zumba routines but I like the sound of mocktails.
I like the sound of canvas bag painting but the table will be used for the buffett so I wouldnt' have any room for painting.

Lauren I'm sure they would want to stay up til god knows when but I'll not be having any of that, not when the walls are paper thin and I don't want them to wake J up. They are all hyper, loud kids so I can imagine they would be shouting and screaming at scary films.

Cake decorating - you buy/bake them and they can decorate?
Mocktails is a great idea.
Hair/make up/ nails
DVDS - Loads of snacks
They'll be in their element and probabl have an idea of what they want to do themselves anyway!

Yeah that's the thing, you have to think about little J being asleep. I think you've got lots for them to do

They will probably not even want to hang around downstairs, they'll probably be getting up to mischief in her bedroom.

We did mocktails for the girls birthdays when they were a similar age. I went a bought a load of fancy picnic wear glasses (plastic but coloured) umbrellas, and juice / lemonade / schloer. They loved it.

Mocktails sound fab. Do you know someone that can do nails etc? I know my 10 year old nieces would love that
