I got a phone call from E's school to say come and get her because she feels sick. That was at 11.30, she looks fine to me but I made her get her pj's on and go to bed to watch telly. She's just come and asked me if her lunch is ready and she then asked J if he wanted to play a game but I've sent her back to bed.
Her friend is off sick today so I think she just wants a day off, she'll soon regret it when she's stuck in her bed for the day I was going to do some Christmas shopping this afternoon but now I can't, I'll have to do my ironing.

Hmm, does sound a bit dodgy, or a miraculous recovery!
We weren't even allowed TV if we were off school ill, so she's lucky she's getting that.

Well she was fine this morning but she answered my phone and my mam was asking her if she felt ok because her friend who she was with all weekend was poorly and going to be off school (my mam childminds her friend).
Its her school Christmas party tomorrow and shes talking about going, I keep asking her how she knows shes going to be better by tomorrow.
I've asked her if she's pretending to be ill, she said no she really is poorly and she feels sick, I said if she's feeling that sick she wouldn't want her lunch.
I think I'll let her watch telly for a bit longer then turn it off and she can read or sleep

Me and J are going to watch the grinch, do I let her join us or do I make her stay in bed? She is still insisting she is poorly.

I'd tell her that she needs her rest if she wants to go the the Christmas party tomorrow, so she should go back to bed!

Aww I think it's cute when little ones throw a sicky, my friends little one did it the other week, it's lush. You can tell my baby is only 8 months, I won't be saying this in a few years I am sure!!!!

What a monkey I remember pulling sickies at that age!

Louise, not cute at all, I think she's regretting it now cos I've made her stay in her room and her friends just knocked and I've told her she can't play with her as we dont want anyone else catching it.. This will make her think twice about it next time, evil mam that I am.

WS me too. My mam always made me stay in my room when she knew I was telling lies so I'm doing the same with her since she ruined my shopping day ha ha. She's getting bored now, I bet she wishes she had stayed at school.

There was a saying in our house that you needed a death certificate before my Mam would let you stay off
I think i'd have made her stay in her room too. If she was genuinely ill I'd probably let her stay on the sofa and watch films under a duvet, but i think if you know it's a fib then you made the right call.

I wouldn't of let her stay off but the school said she had to go home. She's definitely not ill so it's an early night for her, tests what happens when your poorly ha ha.

If she really was poorly then staying in bed and being cared for wouldn't be a problem anyway so either way it's win win.

How odd of the school to send her home so easily. Hopefully this will nip in the bud any desire to bunk off school again

She'd not have got TV if it was me! She'd have been in bed resting in her PJs and is have given her dry toast and boring food for lunch!
10/12/2012 at 19:06
Food has been very boring for her and when J had chocolate fingers I told her it would upset her stomach so she couldn't have any ha ha.

Has she gone to school happily today?
11/12/2012 at 08:41
I was wondering the same thing!
11/12/2012 at 08:58
Oh yes, was up early and hyper for her party, little bugger. My mam thought I was being harsh on her by making her stay in her room all afternoon but I wasn't going to make it fun to be off sick from school ha ha.

I think you did the right thing and plan to do that if Olivia ever does it.

I hope she might think twice about it next time, she was so bored by tea time.
