Right I am not normally a Bah humbug sort of person and normally I will have bought all my presents by now - still have not really started. We went to a indoor shopping place yesterday and bought nothing! I just don't seem to have the energy or enthusiasm this year. I have Thursday and Friday off this week - but all I can think about is the amount of work that I have to do before 20th Dec!
Hints or tips on how to get into the Christmas spirit are much needed - normally I make my cards and decorations but can't find any energy!

I'm normally a big Scrooge at Christmas and only get festive on Christmas Eve. I'm feeling different this year but don't know what's changed. Why don't you stick on a Santa hat, open a bottle of port, sit down to watch Its A Wonderful Life and do your shopping online?

I am currently trying christmas movie with blanket on lap! Port would be lovely but trying to only have alcohol on special occasions being pregnant - maybe it is the weirdness of this being the last christmas where it will be about H and I. I think I should send H out for chocolate advent calendar.

I was going to suggest online shopping! Sounds like the thought of all you have to do is ruining your festive cheer, so make it as easy as possible. I even bought my wrapping paper online this year, it's all been sooo much easier than carting stuff round the shops and getting hot and sweaty with indecision over what to by! Ho Ho Ho, have a mince pie and listen to Bing :)

Things that get me into the christmas mood are; advent calendars, going to see the light being switched on in our village or in town, getting christmas cards from others, (often get lots from my students but as I'm now in a very multi-cultural/faith school I'm not sure if this will be the case), decorating christmas cakes, making christmas food to take home for christmas (but as we're at H's family this year I may not bother with this one), putting the tree and decorations up, listening to carols on the radio, visiting family and friends to deliver presents, walking around the village to see all the outside lights that people have in their gardens.

You MUST put a Xmas cd in your car, have the tv playing Xmas films or music channels, get baking, or buy some treats, get the decs up!

Durr, forgot about pregnancy. You can get nice festive drinks in the supermarket. Or make some mulled non-alcoholic cider :-). It will kick in.

maybe try and get H to get some of the decs out of the garage loft next weekend, I don't think it is helping that I thought we would have loads more done DIY wise and that I would have a nice front room sorted for Xmas decs and the house nice and it is still resembling a building site and i can't help cos of my stupid spd hips and cooking, dishwasher and laundry is about all I can do. Can't even bop around to my fav xmas tunes whilst doing the housework

*whispers* it's not Christmas yet. Don't worry. I'm not nearly as organised as I usually am, but it's still too early to feel too Christmassy IMO. You can peak too soon! Get online and blitz your list, h says if amazon don't sell it, Santa doesn't have it! Be kind to yourself x
