C has informed me, that years 5 and 6 are not taking part in the school play, only years 3 and 4. I'm not sure why. Not TOO bothered, as school plays bore me to tears, but I feel C is missing out. Taking part in the Christmas play was always really exciting in school. My SD is an Angel in her play. She said she isn't singing the songs, as they are about God. Fair enough, we're not religious, but I don't know how she has become so aware of it. I'm guessing her older sister. What are your kids in their plays?
ETA the rest of my blummin post. Damn you mobile forum!!!

J is doing a nativity play. Years 5 and 6 are doing a carol service which are so boring. I wouldn't mind going if they sang Christmas songs/hymns but they don't.

My daughter's school is doing a singing play I think where the songs tell the story so there's no real acting. Its a small school and this is a way for every child to take part. I think the acting parts are given to the children who fit the costumes (last year as well as singing she was a cow which was a quick walk on part).

L's nursery do a sing-a-long for the pre school rooms - the younger rooms have a tea party. However the said sing-a-long starts at 2pm. You know slap bang in the middle of the afternoon. So working parents who PAY for their child to go to nursery whilst they are at WORK have to to then take half a days leave to attend the damn sing-a-long

That's a bit sad. The whole school do one at primary, well one performance for KS1 and another for KS2. C is in KS1 and is a soldier. I'm not sure what part soldier's played in the Christmas Nativity but there you go. I can't go to C's this year because I'm working I don't think E's doing anything at secondary - how bad am I, forgot to ask!

All the years in C's school do a play, so there's 3 in total (Reception, KS1 and KS2)
C's a dancing snowflake in his (Whoops-a-daisy angel), nice easy costume of black trousers and white t-shirt. Really looking forward to seeing it on Wednesday just a shame MrDD can't get the time off to come as well.

I might ask why they aren't doing it. The whole school used to do it, so this is a new thing.
They're not doing anything else instead either.
