I got rechargables for C's one, you have to take the batteries out to recharge them which is a bit of a PITA.
You can buy an AC adapter for it too but it doesn't actually charge it which is a bit of a con www.amazon.co.uk/.../ref=sr_1_2 (they were £9.95 when I bought them so wait until the price comes down again).

We have rechargeables too, we bought quite expensive ones (I think they were around £17 for 4 AAs, not including the charger which we already had). They do last a long time though, and then we leave them charging for about 24 hours.

I got a charger (with 4 batteries) and an extra set of batteries for £15 in wilkos for Alannas innotab as was having the same problem, i think they use the same batteries? Having the spare set means I can charge them and she can still play. X
