E's got a bag of little bits that we take everywhere. It's basically bits of crap that you get in happy meals, or free gifts from the front of kiddie magazines. She plays with them for hours though, and so we will be taking that with us. Then we've got a note pad and some crayons. I also got one of them magnetic drawing board things. S loves his singing iggle piggle, so will probably have that with us for him.

I always let L pack his trunki with his toys he wants for holiday. He doesn't play with any of them. He's happy with ipod & games plus food on the plane then in the hotel / villa he just occupies himself. We even took scooters last year and they weren't even played with!
We went abroad when my son was 2.5 and the things I remember taking were - stickers, loads of stickers and probably a notepad to stick them in; a set of 3 dinosaur figures - they were a big hit and went everywhere with him for the holiday - they can go digging at the beach, eat a meal with you at a restaurant, go swimming, all sorts of fun can be had! We also took 2 little metal cars and it was very funny we lost one in the sand on the beack, I remember we dug and dug and just couldn't find it anywhere.
Little colouring books and crayons - I always have these in my handbag, even now 5 years later.

Ta Chids, we were talking about getting him a magazine at the airport and some snacks, he likes picking stuff like that himself. I think that maybe I'll take his Toy Story figures with us as well, the little ones, not his big ones lol. Oh yes, pen and paper is a good idea, I was wondering whether to get Snap or something like that, I am sure that he would like that.

We'll probably be taking sticker books and a magazine, crayons, pack of cards (he loves playing pairs and snap), books, drawing magna doodle type thing and plenty of snacks!!! Can't think what else we usually take, some little figures I guess, and maybe some lego for playing with there.

Oooh, we got a pairs game too. It's a disney princess one, not sure it'll be good on the plane because of the limited amount of space, but thought it was something we could play in the hotel room

Is there not a TV to keep him occupied?

You don't always get them Belle when the flight is just a couple of hours

I meant in the villa / apartment hotel. Food and ipad will keep a child happey for a short flight.

We always seem to have- books, thomas the tank engine trains, cars, aquadoodle travel, Mickey Mouse characters and Little Tinkerbell (she goes everywhere with us though!)

I just use iPad or a DVD player. And lots of snacks
Girl after my own heart Beez.

Can you let him pack his own bag? That's what I do with Ella so she decides what goes with us. Snacks are a big must too on the plane.

I might do WS, he will want to take everything though and new things are so much better.

I actually feel sorry for people on our flight this year. Molly and Louie together plus the 3 girls and me and CW getting ratted!

I'm with Beez, iPhone/ iPad, and personal DVD players here. Don't judge. We take books and drawing stuff too, that and snacks plus the general excitement of flying you will be reet.
