My husband and I are due to move in with his parents soon and it will be for at least 2 or 3 years we think.
Typically me deciding I want a baby has come at completly the wrong time! Well I'm not 100% sure I want one but I'm getting there and my husband agrees with me.
I just know how or if we would cope living with his parents. His mum says she would love too see us have baby but she is 72, my father in law is 85, I feel that at their age its probably unfair to impose a baby on them. My husband admits its not the ideal situation situation but thinks it would be ok. Me on the other hand, I really don't see how it will work.
From what I've read familys like to spend time alone, especially at first once they've had the baby so they can bond with the little one, etc. At the inlaws that would be very difficult. And obv the mother inlaw would probably constantly be trying to help me, give me advice etc and I feel it may drive me mad!
But if we wait till we are in a place of our own again my husband will be about 44 which, to me, feels a little late in life to be a daddy for the first time. Although his age does also make me feel a little pressured to hurry up and have one unfortunalty. I know not everyone will agree with me on the age thing.
Sorry, Im going on a bit!
Just wondered really if anyone was in that situation and how it is working out?
