So! My mother has volunteered to babysit the boys either in July or November (apparently whatever suits us ) to let us get a night out
anyway we were thinking of going to London for 1 night, can you recommend a restaurant. Was thinking of the one you eat in the dark, ?? Dans le noir??? Purely because its different. Is it worth a go do you think or are there much better places that if it was your only chance of a night out alone in the whole year then would you be happy with the meal in the dark??? Or should I scrap that and do something else???
if anyone has been to a fab restaurant then tell me what u had...no bloody wonder I'm fat...I'm all about the food

I'd probably be looking for something other than dans Le noir (my sis has been and said it wasn't all that. An experience though)
I like J.Sheekey's in covent garden, but would love to go to dinner (heston's latest restaurant). Will have a think for some others.
And July or November? Blimey, she *must* be a busy lady . Actually I'd go for November, tie it in with Christmas shopping.

Your all about the food, I'm all about the booze, I wouldn't waste my night having food, I'd be doing a boozy afternoon/night out.

O il have booze too (obv!) no show without punch lol

I would first of all think about the 'type' of night out you want. Do you want a nice meal with a few drinks or do you want to eat somewhere, that is equally as nice, and he bars/pub? Or, do you want to revisit your youth and go clubbing? I would say this would help in terms of where to go for location.

No I want to go for a lovely meal (but will have a good drink too ), we tend to spend most of the night in the restaurant (as we order so much ) then go to a pub for last orders iykwim but will have ad wine and cocktails at restaurant x

*** dans le noir so many other lush places in london. Cuisine will help narrow if down. Sheekeys is nice enough but not wow prefer scotts. Budget cuisine and whether gou want amazing views or just awesome food.

Novikov springs to mind as the hot new place in London. Traditional like Coq d'argent, scotts as mentioned. The Square is very nice also. Gilgamesh for fun but not actually amazing...Petrus Angela Hartnett, Atol Kutcher Benares...

I've done Dans le Noir and whilst it was a fun experience, I wouldn't do it for a big date night. We did the surprise meal and when I thought about what we'd eaten I felt sick - that could be because I was 8 weeks pregnant at the time though.
22/05/2013 at 21:37
I wouldn't feel sick with what I'd ate, I'd pretty much eat anything apart from liver or peppers, I'm not fussed, although I'm laughing at our only chance if a date night and we want to sit in the pitch black and not look at each other lol.
Wait and see my mum will cancel and we will get an m&s dine in fit a tenner!
