Posted this over on BT last night and forgot to get over here with it as well until Belle reminded me.
Sarah from Mumdrum has posted that they are supporting CLIC Sargent this year and suggested organising something in line with the Great Mums Get Together week in march. It runs from 10th to the 17th and I've volunteered to try and get some people together locally here. Probably weekend, possible evening. I'd pref child free personally but open to what others want to do.
Thinking either a sale or just a big meet up where we can donate into a pot and use it as the excuse to meet some others.
Anyone is welcome whether local or not, have children or not, everyone! Please post if you think you might be interested and if there are any specific requirements you might have.

I'm in Pip.
I think the SANDS sale was a big success last time but took a lot of planning. An idea is to hire a hall and do a bake sale, there are so many on here who bake lovely cakes, plus it means we won't be taking over a restuarant if there are loads of us & it's cheaper. But again it's a lot of planning. The hall I used for L's party only cost £50 to hire (not sure what that's like in comparison to others)

I would be in too! I would love to contribute to the cakes and food or anything else I can x

Belle, I wonder if any community halls would lower the price if they knew it was a charity run event? Might be worth looking into

I could speak to L's nursery - they often have charity events for Make a Wish.

What about a kids party? i.e. hire a hall, all chip in with food, pay a set fee per child which would go in the charity box? maybe have a raffle? saturday afternoon or something?

Nina that's a brilliant idea!

Just realised Pip said she would prefer no kids!
How about we have a pamper room there too for Mummys to have there nails done or similar whilst the kids are partying....
01/02/2013 at 11:00
ha ha I meant because I can't cope with open spaces with them both at the same time and that I don't even get to say hello. It sounds like a nice idea Nina.

Ah ok so if we had some kind of entertainment and they could all party together that would work? the hall Belle talks about is nice as it is big plus it has a seating area with chairs seperate from the main hall so people could go out there to chat also.

I could ask my cousin if she'd be up for doing some treatments.
01/02/2013 at 11:42
Are you about CP, we could train it there and back for about £40 depending.....
01/02/2013 at 11:51
Oh yes good idea Belle!!! would be great if she could
I could ask my friend if she would do the entertainment?
Que Sera - do it!!
Pip - where are you!!!

sOunds like a fab idea!
01/02/2013 at 12:24
Pip would you like me to contact the hall and enquire on availability? Any particular dates?
01/02/2013 at 12:30
Sorry was sorting out lunch and having a melt down!!!
Belle and nina would either (or both) of you be interested in getting some of this together? I'm not sure I can do it but it really does sound a great idea.
