Have you got a school place for September sorted? i declined WPS and now having second thoughts on our choice. DBS have apparently reopened FS1 so in considering applying... I thought this was going to be easy

I feel your pain, it is not easy
We also ended up changing too, we originally had a place at Raffles but then got offered a place at JESS Jumeirah so have accepted that. This whole school thing is a minefield!
R went to a friends party just before he left the nursery and I think I had the same conversion with about 10 mum's 'oooo which school is he going to' felt like it was a case of 'keeping up with the Jones. This was after they put the fear of god into me earlier last year as I didn't have R's name down at about 5 schools since birth. Ok, maybe being dramatic but only slightly
Have you looked at the Ofsted reports?

I know, it's been such a pain! Everyone said we would struggle to find a school place last November and apparently not! Yes, her school went up a step too which is great but does mean the fees are likely to be hiked up too!
Great news about JESS! H wants me to stick with Es school, give it a year and if we don't like it we can move her... I met a group of mums who have children starting with E in FS1 this year and they have older children in the school- they weren't selling it to me at all!! It worried me slightly but think we need to make up our own minds! I also know that the school she will go to when we return to the UK is fantastic (hopefully it will stay that way for the next few years haha!) and that will be more important I guess as that's where she will do her big exams.

Think you have to go with your instinct. If the school was that bad you would take your child out nor would you send a second child there lol I didn't think we would really be here after all this time so didn't think I would even have to think about this!
How much longer do you think your be here for?
We are not planning on going back to the UK but Ireland, so guess will have to look at the whole school thing again oh the joys...

That's exactly what H said about them We are in the same boat, were supposed to have gone back by now too! It'll be at least 4 years before we go back. I've just put our UK house on the market. Doesn't seem worth keeping it as we will never return to it and I'm fed up of letting it out. What about you? Have you got a time frame in mind too?

Well H said he would like to head back when R is about 7, no idea why he has that age in his head! Not really set a time scale this time, firstly Ireland is in a mess but also last time when we hit the mark of when we thought we would be moving back I got really unsettled. Not really even sure why but this time just going to see what happens.
Would like to move back no later than when R is ready for secondary school though I gues. I would like R to know where 'home' is and I know this is not a major thing but when you ask many children where there 'from' they are not too sure - they know where they go on holiday each summer but never actually lived there.
So a rather long winded answer to say I have no idea when we will head back lol
How is the house going, is there many people looking? Would you but in the same area again if you went back? This was our biggest problem if we went to the UK where would we go, I wouldn't want to live in my home town and no other family any where in the UK and not keen on starting again making a social life etc.

I know what you mean. We say at least 4 years as really we just don't know! I felt sick thinking about going back last year and then a real mix of relief and sadness come February when we were still here! We need to move in the new year too, we've outgrown this place and I want somewhere that can be 'home' for the time we are here. Villa prices are just going up so much though!
I think we will end up moving to Kent so that's another reason we are selling. It's going on the market Thursday- the current tenant might make us an offers I he has first rights before we start the process. It'll be so much easier if he does buy it! We need to be near London and Hs family live in Kent so I guess it makes sense. The whole building another social group terrifies me too though. I try not to think about it haha!
