Hiya, I tried with both of these but they weren't having it. I've bottled fed them both and they are so healthly and seem to pick up fewer bugs then my other friends children. I did find the nearly all the hospital staff try to shame you into doing what they feel is right. I was lucky to have one midwife on my side each time who said to ignore them. I think medical staff should be there to inform you of the benefits and offer help if you need or ask for it but after that they should keep their opinons to themselves. I really struggled after having Mia and felt low all the time. The added digs and eye rolling really did nothing to help other make me think I was getting something else wrong. It was awful. I really felt sorry for Mia because she had me for a mum. Now I look at my girls and they are so healthy and happy and strong (they can both do pull ups - fitter then me) and I think that at least I did the best I could and what was right for us. Some of the staff work so hard and I know they must get an awful lot of grief from people but I think they often forget that this is the most amazing experience to have and they ruin for some people. I guess some staff get so used to seeing babies born every day they forget what a huge event it is for the individuals. Luckily the second time round I was a lot more vocal and told them it wasn't appreciated. It didn't change their attitude but at least they buggered off and left me to it.
Just because something is right for some doesn't mean it's right for everyone. Hats off to people that have and are breastfeeding, but also, well done to the bottle feeders who suffer the glares even though they are doing a great job raising lovely babies.

Aww, he's so cute. I forgot to say, the other thing I like about bottle feeding is Lee got to feed the girls too and got to have a great bond with the girls. I know milk can be expressed but still, I like dads getting some good time with their babies.
