Here it is:
150g plain chocolate
150ml double cream
Cocoa powder to coat
1. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a simmering pan of water with the butter and cream - stir until all the chocolate has melted.
2. Take the pan off the heat and take the bowl off the saucepan. Allow to cool for a few minutes then pour the mixture into a container, put a lid on and leave in the fridge to set for 3-4 hours (I left mine overnight and it was fine).
3. Remove the container and roll small balls of mixture in your hands (very messy!)
4. Roll the truffles in cocoa powder and put them in paper cases. Store in the fridge until you're ready to give them (or eat them!)

Thank you very much Margot. Would they work with milk chocolate? I have some in the cupboard and it would save a trip to the shop xxx

Can't see why not. The recipe also said you can coat with chocolate strands or dessicated coconut if you prefer. I ended up buying about 9 bars of Sainburys Basics chocolate for all my Christmas baking - looked like a right loon at the checkout!

Im off to make them now, Although I should be ironing, hoovering and cleaning but bakings more fun lol. I have two bars of chocolate One more question, how many does it make? (allowing for "testing" you see )
