I'm at a loss at the moment for inspiration for dinners so thought I'd start up the meal planning thread?? When so you do your meal planning, this may be the better day to run the thread?? Would Friday be good for shopping to be bought over the weekend?

What I'm currently trying to do is to come up with a list of 60 meals, split into chicken, pork, beef, veggie, fish etc so each week I can pick the meals for the week, and it gives enough options to not get bored. Then I'll print the recipes/ingredients lists off and keep it behind them in a folder.
Sounds a bit geeky but otherwise I miss ingredients or never plan properly, I'm hoping it'll be an easier way of doing things once I sort it out.

I don't plan that much, just when I'm doing the shopping at the weekend I'll look at the meat and fish section to help me decide what we're having for the week, then buy the veg etc that I need to go with it and tend to have most of the basics in the cupboards anyway. My meals are not that adventurous though.

We do a bit like Weekender has mentioned, we have very little waste at the end of the week. Shopping is ordered on a Friday for Saturday pick up from Tesco.

So shall we do a Thursday meal plan thread, to give people a couple of days prior to doing the weekly food shop??

I usually meal plan on a Wednesday night because I usually go to fat club then. I sit in the group whilst other people are getting weighed and write my shopping list out for the week.

Ok I'll run it on a Thursday and if it's a winner I'll continue, if not I'll knock it on the head xx

I used the Change 4 Life app this week to meal plan and found it really helpful. It sorts out a shopping list and that cut my shopping bill. It's also been really handy with the weight loss and it's geared up for that aspect too.
