Lately I have been having bad moods just before my period is due, the slightest thing can get my back up and I have no patience. As soon as my period arrives, I am fine and back to normal. does anyone know if there is anything 'natural' I can take to help with my moods during this time? I have a coil but it is the non hormonal coil.

I think evening primrose oil is meant to help with that. Does the coil make you periods heavy? If my periods are heavier I get a bit more pmt than usual, but I generally don't suffer from pmt.

My periods were heavier for the first 8 months after having it fitted but they have settled down now and are normal. I will try evening primrose oil, thanks

I get terrible moods that make me feel very low and I cry a lot, I hate it. I'm on the pill though and wondering if I should stop. Not sure of anything natural, I'll be watching this thread x

I had the terrible moods/crying/not being abler to function. I went to the Gp and was prescirbed low dose citalopram. It was amazing. Please don't suffer with it, there's no need to. xx

I take evening primrose oil and vitamin B complex as I have dreadful low mood before my period and such severe irritation I feel like I could actually tear my skin off. It got much worse after having E but they both work wonders and such a simple remedy - much cheaper than anything prescription too!

I hope it works
ML- I get like that if I take anything hormone based so I not on anything now. I've taken various pills over the years and had the mirena fitted, even with low dose progresterone I was bad too. Take a break from it and see how you feel

I've found evening primrose oil has helped loads, I had terrible periods after having the csections and I have found its helped calm down the moodiness, bleeding and cramps. It takes a couple of months to be fully effective but worth trying
