I struggle every autumn/winter with what to wear on miss cv's legs with dressy/party dresses. Wool tights don't seem right and the thinner type are few and far between.
And then there's picking a colour. Am I alone in this?! Have bought a dress at the weekend that will pprobably have to go back as am really stuck, print in pale pink, burgundy/plum and grey.

I'm not sure I qualify as I generally only buy wool tights and my daughter chooses herself which ones to wear. Sometimes this does give us some strange colour combinations but as long as she's dressed and happy. I do know what you mean, though. Lots of little girls tights have patterns which can look very weird if the dress is also patterned.
To be honest, I decided not to stress about things like this as my daughter will normally refuse to put on a party dress for special occasion and insist on wearing leggings or something else
BHS and M&S both had thinner girls tights in plain colours the other week when I was looking for woolly tights for school wear and I think that Mothercare does them too.

If it's just for a party and the weather is mil dI'd go without tights. She'll be running around like a loon anyway getting hot. Otherwise go for the thicker tights.
You can buy less denier tights in H&M - I always used to buy the girls ones there www.hm.com/.../KIDS

i usually by wool tights or very thick denier tights in either white or a colour to match the dress. maybe try grey or pale pink, they will probably be the easiest colours to match.

How old is she? If E wore tights with a party dress it would usually be sparkly ones like these direct.asda.com/.../G004370746,default,pd.html

My two have some quite thin sparkly ones from M&S, they have worn them quite a lot and no ladders yet....

My LO is a lot younger but I've found that the cheap Primark tights look more jersey and less wooly in her age!

Thanks for input all, will try the suggested shops and generally just try to stress less!

I tend to go for a fine knit cream tights as Zoe doesn't like the feel of the denier ones. Monsoon is fab for party tights.

I noticed that H&M has racks and racks of lighter weight tights in a variety of colours today.
On the other hand, they didn't seem to have any dresses suitable for a 6 year old that aren't for a party and don't make her look 15. In fact, this season must be a non skirt or dress season for little girls as nowhere seemed to have anything much in, except for a few with net skirts or party dresses. Mostly it was all trousers and leggings.
