Except obviously she isn't a baby. Since she was born she became a lot of my responsibility. I made the hard decision to leave home and leave her and my brother at home at 18 and went to uni. I kept in close touch with her until my mum made things very difficult. She got back in touch when B was a year old quite angry that I had lost touch with her. She wanted to come and visit me two weeks after Ex left (or there abouts). She contacted me on the Saturday to say she wanted to see me on the Sunday and it was all too much then for me.
So she has just messaged to say she is pregnant. She has literally just bought a house with her boyfriend and is due in October. I am half hideuslye xcited for her and half hideously envious and also feeling all Grandmothery

I haven't actually seen her in over 11 years! I really don't know as it is so overly complicated because of my mum.

oh you should just put complications aside and invite her round or meet for a coffee. It would be sad not to have contact with your niece/nephew.

Do you want to meet up with her?

I'm not sure. If I could see and it would def not involve my mum then yes. But unfortunately she still has contact with her so I doubt that would happen.

Could you arrange to meet her without your mom being there?
