We went to look at abuts wry for C on Wednesday and popped to the development our house is being built on to have a look at progress. We were supposed to move in this month but it kept getting delayed, currently looking at September.
So we went and we have car ports up, foundations fully laid, garden fenced in and bricks up to the window ledges of the ground floor. Doesn't sound much but seeing as this time last month it was just a piece of mud land it's a massive step forwards. They say 13 weeks from start of build and that you can generally move in a month after the roof goes on so we could even be in a few weeks earlier than expected. A few weeks doesn't sound a lot to get excited about but when you live with your PIL with a 2 year old and baby on the way every week counts! I still don't think we will be in before the baby arrives but still its a light at the end on the tunnel!!

That sounds really positive and like they're making lots of progress. We are in a new build and I remember how nice it is watching it go up! Hopefully with the weather getting nicer there won't be any more delays and the roof can go on pretty quickly!

great news :)

Yeah I didn't realise they can't lay bricks if its 4 degrees or less so I guess with this years temperatures they could only start building last week.
Belle...what's abuts wry??? Lol.. Has my baby brain kicked in?? Xxx

Fingers crossed now the weather is improving they can get on and build the thing! Exciting to finally see something happening. Watching them build some houses near us, it seemed to take a while to lay the foundations, very quick to get the walls up and the roof on, then slow for getting the final part done - perhaps because its not as obvious from the outside that they're actually doing anything.
That's great news! x

Yep we are happy with this one, after the minor child loosing incident at the first one we were originally keen on!! It's not walkable which is a shame but its got a wonderful bright hall, with lots of activities going on and they go on regular trips to farms, zoos etc so really pleased all in all with it xx

Great news, I'm very jealous! We so need to move but no way of doing it until I'm back at work at least now!

Fab news, at least you'll have live in help for the first few weeks of newborn baby, then you can move on and leave the mess behind!
If it's still at building stage can you ask them to put a channel in the wall for your TV before it's plastered?
19/04/2013 at 11:32
Fab! Is it a chain /large nursery or a small independent?
19/04/2013 at 12:14
Yep that the plan lol xxxx
Belle is a small village preschool, he is down for 3 full days, which to them is 9-3. I hope we get in now we finally found somewhere we are happy with. They don't have schools with nursery classes down that a way so have been limited for choice.

I've not found any schools with nursery classes up here! As long as you are happy with the place that's all that matters x
