I'm not sure if you remember but I won a prize on the radio at the beginning of October which has just been sorted.
We are hoping to book the train today once the company email me confirmation.
We are going in Feb, staying in this hotel for the night http://www.parkplaza.com/london-hotel-gb-se1-7tj/gbriver
Also included is this http://www.thamesdinnercruise.co.uk/
and a flight on the London Eye.
I'm dead excited. We are going to do touristy things on the first day then have a second day in London to go boozing and get a late train back
ETA we get £100 towards our travel to London but train is only going to cost about £60.

That's a wicked prize! I suggest you get an Oyster card for hopping on and off the buses.

Belle I think we were planning on getting a taxi from Kings Cross to our hotel when we arrive then just wander round, then go for a walk the next morning after breakfast, then just walk our way back to KC via lots of pubs unless the weather is rubbish.

Mate a taxi will be about £50+ in traffic from Kings Cross to Lambeth you are crossing London - get the tube
From King's Cross & St. Pancras National Railway Station (approx 35 mins)*
•Travel on the London Underground southbound on the Victoria line towards Brixton
•Depart at Vauxhall via exit number 3
•Walk east along Albert Embankment
•Park Plaza Riverbank London will be on your right

Really? H googled a taxi fare from KC to the embankment and he reckoned it would be about £15, just shows what Google knows. I think we'll be getting the tube
Thanks for the head up Belle, would of been gutted having a huge taxi fare to pay.
35 mins on the tube isn't bad, I hate the tube though.

Tell me about it!
I'm interested to see if you walk back through London on the way home as well.

We don't mind walking Belle. Years ago, when E was in a buggy we had a 2 night stay in London and there was a tube strike, we managed to get everywhere we wanted to - all the tourist attractions etc on foot, we were knackered by the night but it was good.
I've Googled and its only just over 4m from the hotel to KC. We'll be going via pubs so it will be fun.

I don't mind walking either but there's no way I'd walk Lambeth to KX when I can jump on the tube. I am a Londoner though. Anything to avoid tourists

Ha ha I'll embrace travelling across London on foot.

Sounds good. Hope you have a fab time...
Been years since I have been to London. I have managed to avoid planned day trips there so far.
