I recently got with the man of my dreams after a long hard slog (I won't even go into that!) and he's the one who has made me really want babies after always saying 'no chance!'
I'm very new to all this baby and pregnancy talk and I won't be ttc for another 12 months but I want to prepare myself especially after hearing some right horror stories!
I am currently on Dianette and have been since I was 16 (now just turned 23) because I had a few spots and nothing else was working. I have heard hideous stories about not being able to conceive for years (not what we want since my partner is nearly 31 now!) about horrific caustic acne and about periods that last 3 weeks!
Now as far as I'm aware I don't have PCOS or any other fertility problems, my periods didn't start until I was nearly 16 and I had about 2 and was then put onto Dianette. My skin was never 'acne' and to be honest, I REALLY didn't look after it at all, I slept in makeup, never really had a wash before bed and never moisturised plus I wore all sorts of cheap crap on my face. Now I am very careful only to use certain mineral (and MINIMAL) makeup, I wash every night before bed using Organic cleanser and only use Simple wipes and moisturiser - my skin is literally porcelain with the odd spot around my period.
Sorry to waffle on I'm just trying to put out the feelers for anyone who has had a similar past to me and their experience? I know a lot depends on the person so we're all different but I'm really starting to panic and it's upsetting me thinking I'd have to wait years for a baby and also have a face full of spots to boot!
My mum and Nana (maternal AND fraternal) are both very fertile they came off their pill (well not my frat nana, it wasn't around!) and were pregnant literally within a few weeks - to quote my nana who has four children ''every time he sneezed I was carrying again!' Does this make a difference?
Any advice and reassurance would be great, I can't wait to be a mummy hopefully we'll be pregnant by Christmas 2013!
