Hi, my daughter is 8 weeks old now. Just wondering how much other babies sleep at this age?? She seems to vary from day to day. She slept from 10pm-3am last night, then fed her she then slept from half 5 until half 7 ish then had a feed and she fell asleep on me so I've taken her upstairs and she is napping now. But should I be trying to keep her awake? I've played with her, put her on her changing mat with no nappy (which she loves) but she just seemed exhausted so I let her sleep.
She is also only having 3 or so oz every feed (bottle fed) only occasionaly does she empty her whole bottle 6oz and think this may be disrupting her sleep as she is hungrier sooner? We thought she may be showing signs of early teething as is drooling a lot, chewing on everything and there is a small lump on her gum, which can affect them feeding, but just wondered if any other mums has had the same?
First time mum if you hadn't guessed!

Hi Olivia, welcome to the site.
8wks is still early days to be seeing any form of routine regarding feeding/sleeping. They will often go through growth spurts in the 1st few months (typically around 6wks, 12wks & 16wks but this can vary slightly from child to child) which can affect the amount they feed & sleep also.
Both my girls were very different, my eldest used to breastfeed for a full hour every 4hrs & nap inbetween whilst my youngest would have smaller breastfeeds more frequently meaning she was seemingly awake more often (though it probably averaged out much the same). My youngest also cut her first tooth at 9wks so it is possible (lots of dribble, launching the mouth onto anything nearby).
Be patient, you're doing great, it does get easier with time. Best wishes.
