Our oven died on Saturday and although it's covered under warranty they can't come out and look at it until the 3rd. I'm guessing they'll then need parts and as we go away on the 5th I guess it will be the following week before it gets sorted properly
So that leaves me with a hob, steamer and slow cooker and 2 fussy children who won't get any chicken nuggets, fish fingers, chips, pizza etc for a while (they do eat other stuff but I like easy meals as well!)
So far on my list of things to cook are:
Pasta - pesto, cheesy, tomato
sausage and mash
whole chicken done in slow cooker - potatoes and veg
salmon in steamer with noodles
umm and then i get stuck! H and I will eat stir fry but the kids won't.
Please inspire me with more ideas. I also need a nice easter sunday meal as I was planning lamb
Thank you x

Can you do fish fingers and chicken nuggets in a frying pan? I always use fry light so that it's not loads of oil, but they cook ok.
Steaks or chicken breasts in the frying pan
Can you do a lamb joint in the slow cooker for Sunday?
Erm, I'm useless at meal ideas!

You could do your lamb in the slow cooker couldn't you for your easter dinner.
I'd be doing stews, chillis, in my slow cooker.

Casserole in the slow cooker
Scrambled egg/beans on toast
Pasta with cut up chicken/sausage/bacon
Meat, potatoes and veg

Yes, I'd make use of the slow cooker as well.
Also soups - I make veggie soup using up everything I have left over.
Omelettes - with a variety of fillings
Pancakes with a savoury filling
Fish panfried with veggies
Spanish baked eggs (you basically cook onion, tinned toms, chorizo sausage, red pepper, then crack an egg on the top. You're supposed to put it in the oven at this point but it will cook through on the hob).
Eggy bread - make cheese sandwiches dip them in egg and milk mixture and then cook in a frying pan on a low heat. Fun for kids.

Ooh, yes, scrambled egg with salmon is a good one.

Do you have a George foreman? We had no cooker for 6 weeks and that got us through.
We had burgers and hot dogs
Chicken fried in a variety of flavours.

I posted a similar question about 6 weeks ago (mumdrum.com/.../4366.aspx) and got some really good suggestions. It's awful being ovenless, we were without for almost 4 weeks in the end!

Thanks for the replies ladies, have added a few more things to the list.
Sadly my H would never tolerate soup as a main meal and the kids are too fussy for things like scrambled egg, bl**dy nuisance.
WE used to have a George Foreman, no idea if we still have it. I will rummage in the cupboard later.
Sparkly Tyke, really useful thread thanks. It's such a nuisace isn't it? SOme nights I just want easy food I can bung in the oven rather than proper 'cooking'. I am 31 weeks pregnant as well and just can't be bothered!
