My ghds have given up the ghost 7 faithful years but today they have decided to go to hair heaven. Just what you need on top of Christmas eh, £100 to fork out on another set.

if you straighten your hair every day like me, then they cost you just four pence a day. Totally worth buying a new pair!

Eeeek! Can you borrow SDs?
Ive never had GHDs. Mine are Remington. Had them for about 4-5 years now, they're fab.

Mine broke a while ago and I had to get cheaper ones, they are ok and got me through the bad times of having none!

oh no i would find that a disaster, i have had mine for 5 years and would never use any other!

Mine are 5 years old this month, and I've started to get the breakdown fear. I've had cheaper one sin the past, but not sure I could go back to them!

Can you add them to your Christmas list and borrow SDs until then? I'd be gutted if mine broke!!
11/12/2012 at 09:51
Oh no!! I have warned H that although I never spend money on myself that I do consider new GHDs a necessity not a luxury and when they break I'm going to buy more! Mine are 10 years old!!!

Im always getting emails from Mankind advertising GHDs not sure if they are the really small mens ones though

This is my biggest nightmare! Mine are 5 years old I hope they last longer! I need to make a savings account purely for GHD's!

Argh. That is a sad day. Always happens at the worst time of year too. How on earth did we function before they were invented!? I love looking back at old photos and you can suddenly see the point at which ghds came into my life and my hair suddenly looked sleek and "done"!!! Think cost per use and it will make you feel better.

I think mine are on the way out too, only had them 2 years though.
They keep going off and on when i use them, OH thinks it may be just the wire though

Not a good day!! I have been so worried about this happening that I asked for a new pair for my birthday (which was April) - so now I have my old pair, 7 years old, and a new pair I get out rarely, but are there for when the sad event occurs! I look terrible without them!
The thought of mine breaking is enough to give me nightmares. I had one pair that lasted 3 years and blew up (very sad day). I'm on my second pair now which have lasted 7.5 years.

Ah sh!t. I thought mine were broke a few years back but I replaced the wire in them and they are still going strong (touch wood).

Noooooooooooooo indeed. I would become a recluse if it wasn't for my GHD's.
Does anyone remember pre-ceremaic straighteners? I had some that steamed my hair straight (for about 20 minutes), and a friend of mine used to get her Mum to iron her hair flat. Those were the days (I am so old).

Got the same pair Mark iv styler for 79 which is painful but not that bad. I don't need the extras just the styler. I use them every single day.
