The girls keep eyeing up jean shorts at £30 a pop because they've got a bit of bling or lace on them.
I thought they could do some craft over the half term & do it themselves. What do I need in terms of glue? We have a Hobbycraft or a Sew Crafty shop near us which I'm hoping will sell the jewels.
(CW Lauren is more than welcome to do some when she's with us - should keep them all out of trouble)

You'd want fabric glue which Hobbycraft does - www.hobbycraft.co.uk/.../567235-1000

Oh she would love that - they want fabric glue. I will have a look though and see if I have any old Lacy tops they could cut up. My friends daughter bleached her jean shorts and they did look good I must admit

Awesome, fankoo very muchly.
Neen I'm gonna buy them a few pairs from Primark, or somewhere and just let them get on with it. What's the deal with bleaching, rubber bands tied in areas and dip in household bleach?

yep thats it, there are how to videos on You Tube, just tell them to do it out the garden in a bucket!

the whole short or just the rubber band area? K probably knows more than me cos of the tie dye she's been doing.

Can I come? Sounds fun and I'm the least crafty person ever

Is tye dye back in fashion???
I might even check out a few charity shops see if i can find some lace

You got a local haberdashery? They often do end of roll/off cuts for pennies.

Yep tie dye is BIG AK - I hate it!
We have a Sew Crafty shop, she sells wool and zips and stuff. I'll pop in and see what she has

Do they want blue denim shorts, or coloured? Could get cold water dye for after they have been bleached??
Old beads and buttons always come in handy too.

Yeah blue denim, but acid wash. They love ones like these:

Blimey, can see why you're customising. Those are expensive for what they are.
You can get a tool that "jabs" studs/jewels through fabric. I got one from Hobbycraft, might be worth checking to see if they still do it. Will hold better than glue.

My point exactly they are just dyed shorts. I've got two lots to buy of everything so am praying good old primark have something we can customise.
