Our cordlesshouse phone has just gone mental, beeping and flashing every few seconds so have had to unplug it to stop myself going mental, been looking at new ones and I quite fancy an old fashioned looking one,
but do you think they would be a pain. The cord etc?
Anyone got one and loves it or just a PITA?
Sorry for the boring post lol

I used to have one, they look great. I *loved* it. I was in the minority :)
Do you use a landline much?

We havent been using it too much was getting a lot of those ppi calls but after some googling found out what to do and so now we can use it again,I have cut down the minutes on my mobile too so hope to use the landline more and more
I really love the look of them, but worried thag its more the look than practicality of them!

I think it's a good excuse to sit down with a cuppa and natter, instead of multi-tasking and wandering about with the phone. Although depends whether you pass calls between each either, could be interesting if it results in you being knotted up

Haha dont tend to pass the phone lol
I am just wondering about practicalities when we do get our little CC and not being able tohave the phone past to me when feeding or what ever we are doing easily iyswim.

We used to have one when I was growing up. The real downside (compared with a cordless phone) is that you can't move around with them. So at the moment when our phone rings if one of us is watching the tv the person on the phone can move to another room and talk without disturbing them. The reality is that if you had one with a small baby you probably wouldn't answer the phone if you were feeding in another room you'd just let it go to the answerphone because it would be too complicated to get back up in time.
On the plus side a small child couldn't drop the thing down the sofa or anywhere else which is what can happen with cordless phones or mobiles so that you can't find it.
I take it that this has push buttons rather than a dial? I don't think I could remember the number I was dialling these days on an old dial phone as they've become so long - unless it had a screen telling me where I'd got to.
