With our first wedding anniversary coming round fast, we wanted to book something after Christmas to look forward to in April. What did you do/planning to do?

We had a weekend in Paris. It was a nightmare from start to finish. Shitty hotel, sickness, drunkness, lost jewellery....

We were in San Francisco on route to my cousin's wedding in Vancouver. I was 22 weeks pregnant at the time.

Probably just went for a meal out, but then we didnt have children so we were out about 5 times a week anyway , I think he might (just might!) have got me a card but I wouldn't bet my life on it!

We went for a walk round the venue we had our wedding reception, then for a meal at a supposedly lovely restaurant nearby. Unfortunately everything on the menu I chose they had ran out of, I I managed to find another starter I wanted, but then while we were eating those they came and told us they didn't have the main course, and there was nothing else I actually wanted that they did have, so we paid for our drinks (they let us off the price of the starter), left, and went elsewhere just for dessert!

I was a bridesmaid for my best friends wedding the weekend of our 1st wedding anniversary so we booked a room at the hotel where the wedding was (it wasn't far from home so could have travelled) then went out for a meal on the actual day too.

Forgot it - but that probably says a lot about the marriage...

I think we went for a curry. quite low key as I was pregnant. a couple of weeks before we spent a few days at Centre Parcs. Have planning your special anniverary.

We didn't do much as M (our honeymoon baby) was only 3 months old. We stayed in and got a take away, H did decorate our table like our top table at the wedding though bless him. We'll make up for it next year though.

Went to watch a circus acrobatic type thing at the Eden project. Had drinks and dinner the night before, which was just as well as we had HUGE Row over being lost coming out of Eden project and were barely talking by the time we got home!!

Our's is in a couple of weeks and H is working on the actual day itself, so we're going for dinner after and then to see the Hobbit in 3D. Or at least, that was the plan last week. It may just end up being dinner at home with a DVD instead. I still need to get him a card. He already got his present, which was a ticket to go see a band on the night before our anniversary that he wanted to see.

We had a 10 day old baby so nothing!

We went for afternoon tea and then H cooked me dinner in the evening at home, I was about 20 weeks pregnant so we kept it fairly low-key!

We had 8 days in New York. On the day of our anniversary we did Top of the Rock first thing, then had a wander round Central Park, and in the evening we went to Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was a very tropical 22 degrees that day too, not bad for early March!

I thanks for your replies ladies! I'm really hoping well be pregnant by then too! Some lovely ideas - we've already been to Paris and New York though. My perfect anniversary would be a few nights in Venice but with the dream of a baby if rather save the £££ and do something more low-key. Maybe a couple of nights in a city here or a spa

I was 33 weeks pregnant.
We went to Bristol for the weekend. Stayed in the same hotel as our wedding night - we even got given the same room!
Went for a look around our wedding venue (SS Great Britain) then for a late lunch early dinner. I was pretty hopeless by that stage of pregnancy so walking was an issue. In the evening I managed to go out for 2 drinks and then we went back to the hotel.

I think we went out for a meal. N was only three months old so we didn't do much or stay out long!

We went to Rome for a long weekend. Those were the days! Bath is very nice if you want a weekend here and it has a spa.

We went to Barcelona for 3 days. It was a groupon deal, you got an upgrade to a suite, a big stone balcony, rose petals on the bed and champagne on arrival etc. We saw all the sights on an open top bus and ate loads of tapas and drank lots of cava. Weather was hot and it was really lovely. On the actual day we went for a posh meal and H gave me an eternity ring and I gave him a (paper) photo book of our first year together.. When we got back we had a meal at our wedding venue. Doubt we will make a fuss next year!

We were in Japan on holiday. As we got married in August we will prob always be on hol! On the actual day we were traveling across the Japanese Alps. We went out for meal a few days later. He bought me a pretty hair accessory from Japan and I made him a paper cut similar to paper panda's stuff.
