I got L's organ donor card in the post and it's made me feel odd, there's no way I can describe it properly. I was the same with O's one coming through the door. I know I've done the right thing but it's just a horrid thing to think about when they have only just started their life.
ETA - my H and I are on the organ donor list and experienced similar feelings when we got our cards through.

I didn't realise that children could be on the donor list. That must be a bit weird for you. I'm on it, though I don't think H is. I filled it in years ago, and although I carry it I hardly ever think about it, to be honest.

DS, I felt "odd" when I got J's through. A tad uneasy I guess.
I've had mixed responses from people when they find out, I had one person even say it was morbid

I'd donate my children's organs (except their eyes) if the worse happened. H and I are also donors. I'd like to think something good could come out of something so bad. It's not a nice thing to agree to though DS xx

I'm on the list, my H isn't. TBH I hadn't thought about putting the kids on one, I didn't realise you could. If the worst happened I'd give consent but I'd rather they chose to go on a list themselves. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense!

I am on the list but hadn't really thought about the kids going on it. Not really sure what I think at all. Can children only receive organs from other children?

AlsiT - I would assume so, especially with smaller children.
I didn't realise children could go on the organ register either until I was filling in the forms for joining O up at the GPs surgery. I chatted with H about it and we just felt that their organs go on to help so many others should the worst happen.

I never knew kids could go on but suppose there's no reason why not. If h needed something from someone I'd like to think it was available, so I should really do the same with him.

I'm on the list as is H. I didn't know that children could be on it, never thought about it really.

I have never thought about having cards for the kids. I'm certain it won't be an option for us though, with their dodgy blood condition. I know H isn't allowed to be an organ donor, and as the kids have the same thing, I'm guessing they would be the same.
If they could, now I know they could, I would get them cards. I can't imagine a reason why I wouldn't.

Why would they need a card though, surely as their next of kin youd be asked anyway?

Maybe if you died at the same time? Like in some horrible car accident or something? I don't know.

It's a generic letter and card with their name on. I have no idea either CK.
