What do you do with photos that you have taken on your camera or mobile? Do you get them printed? Do you store them on your computer?
I have stupid amounts of printed photos, I usually get mine printed off twice a year but it costs a fortune and then they just get shoved in the cupboard, which is now bursting at the seems.

I almost never print any photos from my phone. As for photos on my camera I may print off the odd really nice one, but most just get put on a memory stick or left on the camera card. Before digital I used to love the excitment of collecting my prints from the chemist, I kind of miss tat a bit, though digital is so much easier. I spent ages before moving in with H putting all my old printed photos into albums and binning the rubbish ones. I should do the same with my digital ones - print them off and into an album. My friedn makes photo books with hers - they look great and she has ones for different occassions - big family holiday and so on.

I upload mine to an online photo printing place, normally they offer some free photos to be printed just for registering with them so I do that otherwise they would just sit on the computer or iPhone/iPad x

Every now and again I upload to the computer and then onto Snapfish. I order prints every so often. I must do it soon, I think Snapfish are offering 1p per print until next week.

I used to upload them onto the computer every month or so and order the decent ones from Snapfish but I haven't done this for ages. I've made a couple of photo books with photo's of the children up to their 1st birthdays, and I made a holiday one too. Also did a big canvas montage of photos which looks great

Firstly I back them up! External HDD & cloud storage. If your computer goes kaput then it's likely your photos would go with it.
I do print favourites out, but I'm running out of wall space indoors and I've nowhere to store oodles of prints or photobooks. So most of my pictures are on a hard disk somewhere...

All photos are saved on a removable hard disk, filed by year, and backed up in the cloud.
We only print holiday photos which get put in an album, and photos for frames.

We make sure that they're backed up to various places so we don't lose them, and just print out the really nice ones - we were going to print them from our holiday to Florida last year, but haven't got round to it yet despite me already having almost 200 photos in credit with Snapfish! We bought a little photo album from there especially to put thm in, just need MrDD to edit them and then work out which ones to print.

Right this might be a stupid question but how do I back up my photos as I'm worried about my computer packing up and losing all my photos.

You can copy them to a CD or DVD (more room on a DVD) or save to a portable harddrive if you have one, or memory stick, save them online to somewhere with storage e.g. dropbox (although that's limited but there are other similar storage sites), msn skydrive (not sure if there's a limit there), or upload somewhere like Snapfish, flickr etc, although that option is probably not the best.

Thanks Deedee, I'll try and put them onto a DVD and see how I go.

You ought to be backing up everything on your pc that you might need again, not just your photographs.
I print out quite a lot of my photos but do find it a bit of problem to know what to do with them - where to store the photo albums. I am going to do a photobook of last year's holiday and be a bit more discerning of photos that I print out.
